Mark Zelhart

October 2, 1962 — January 1, 2022

Mark Eugene Zelhart passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. He was 59 years old.

Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary, Durango, Friday, January 14, 2022 from 6-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Frontier Baptist Church, 2201 Forrest Ave, Durango, Colorado.

Mark was born in Kankakee, Illinois to Richard and Janet Zelhart. The third boy who ended up with two younger sisters too. He was an ornery boy who loved teasing people. He became a great man who loved people. He came to know Jesus at the age of 14. He loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know the Savior. He loved his parents and siblings. He loved his wife Jennifer for 31 years and was the most faithful man, a protector, and provider of more than just a home and income. He provided love, protection, and leadership. Becoming a father to his two sons, Marshall and Zach, were proud moments for him and he loved them dearly. He made sure to tell Jennifer and his boys all the time that he loved them. Zach married Chaylla and she became Mark’s daughter that he never had who he loved dearly. Then Mark became a grandfather and his life was so much richer with all of his precious grandchildren to love, Jude, Markus, Ayanna, Lylith,
Emberly, Wade, Mason, and baby soon to be. He proudly worked for 20 years at Red Cedar Gathering, a job he loved and enjoyed. He was blessed by God and a blessing to all who know him. He will be greatly missed and we look forward to seeing him again in Heaven with our Savior Jesus.

Mark is survived by Jennifer his wife; sons: Marshall (Shannon) and Zach (Chaylla); mother: Janet Holt; his brothers Alan and Jeff (Leann); his sister: Dawn; grandchildren: Jude, Markus, Ayanna, Lylith, Emberly, Wade, Mason, and baby soon to come.

He was preceded in death by His father Richard and his sister Misty.
