Obituary for
Jason C. Wright
Durango resident Jason Craig Wright died Saturday, February 25, 2012, in Durango, Colo. He was 21.
Jason was born April 12, 1990, in Durango, the son of James and Nina Wright. He grew up in Ignacio and Bayfield, Colo., and in Perryton, Texas. As a farmer and rancher, he excelled in mechanical work, welding, and construction work, and in all other tasks that are required to make a farm run successfully. He loved rodeo, hunting, and fishing; the outdoors was his refuge. Jason fought with his diabetes from the time he was a young man.
Jason is survived by his father Mike Wright of Ignacio, mother Nina Lynn Rader of Carmel, Ind.; sister Jessica (David) Cochran of Centerville, Minn., brothers Dustin Cole Wright of Okinawa, Japan, and Brian Wade Wright of College Station, Texas; uncles John Wright, Dennis Wright, and Terry Wright, aunts Barbara Murphy and Benita Wright; grandparents James and Thelma Holdman of Perryton, Texas, and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his uncle Jerry Wright and aunt Brenda Wright, uncle Haskell Holdman, and grandparents Harold and Emma Lou Wright, and Dorine Holdman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2625 Pennsylvania St NE #300, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Pine River Valley Baptist Church.
