Obituary for
Owen A. Wibstad
Owen Arthur Wibstad died Saturday, July 23, 2011, in Ignacio, Colo. He was 91.
Mr. Wibstad was born October 22, 1919, in Mohall, N.D., the son of Albert and Thea Wibstad.
He was raised in Ypsilanti, N.D. He served in the Army in Normandy during World War II. He and Marion McKinley were married in 1942 in Abilene, Texas. They lived in Minnesota, where he worked as an overland truck driver. In 1969 he moved to Arizona, where he worked as a real estate agent with his wife Marion. He moved to North Dakota in 1977 to be closer to family, but longed for Arizona; that was home. He resided in Cottonwood, Ariz., until he moved to Ignacio in 2007. He enjoyed travel and being on the road.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marion, and sons Clint and Bob.
Mr. Wibstad is survived by daughter Cheri Wibstad of Ignacio and son Craig Wibstad of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He has been laid to rest at National Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
