Daryl Welch

Daryl Edwin “Eddie” Welch, 63, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Home in Durango, Colorado. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango and burial of ashes will occur in Hillsboro, TX. A reception will be held at the Life Church, 699 Bayfield Parkway, on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 1-3:00 p.m. Guests are invited to bring finger foods. Mr. Welch was born February 17, 1950 in Hillsboro, Texas, the son of Daryl and Irene Welch. He grew up in Hillsboro and moved to Durango, Colorado, in 1988. He worked at various places in Durango, such as, College Plaza Laundry, and Bank of Colorado.He participated in the events for the Special Olympics in swimming, track and field, and volleyball. Eddie even carried the Olympic torch for a small segment in Durango. He loved to bowl, and also enjoyed whitewater rafting, horseback riding. Eddie adored Elvis Presley and enjoyed his trip to Graceland very much. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia King, and a nephew Christopher King, both of Durango.
