Buster Weahkee, Jr.

July 8, 1959 — February 2, 2015

Buster Weahkee Jr. passed away at his home on Cherry Creek in Hesperus, Colorado, on February 2, 2015. “Uncle Buster” to many and friend to all, he was born in Farmington, New Mexico and travelled across the country before settling on his ranch in Hesperus with his wife, Sheila.

Buster was preceded in death by parents Priscilla and Buster Weahkee Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sheila, four sisters and four brothers: Manual and Sharon Weahkee, Sarah and Pat Duran, Jim and Mary Weahkee, Gloria and Terry Sterrett, Corrine and Ron Hackborn, Venna and Bobby Norton, Ricardo Weahkee, and Rona Weeks. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, plus relatives in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico.

There will be a public viewing at Hood Mortuary in Durango from 6-8pm Friday night, funeral services will be held 3pm Saturday at Ft. Lewis Mesa Elementary School gymnasium in Hesperus; burial will be Monday at 2pm at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington.
