Obituary for Candace T. Watts

Candace T. Watts, 28, died Monday, January 14, 2013, home in La Boca, Colo. A wake service will be held Thursday, starting at 4:00 p.m., at 23146 Hwy 172 in La Boca, at the family home. A funeral service will be Friday, January 18, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Facility. Burial will occur at Ouray Memorial Cemetery in Ignacio. Candace was born February 12, 1984, in Durango, Colo., the daughter of Gregory Box and Virginia Watts. She grew up in La Boca and attended schooling in Ignacio. While in school she was active in the Volleyball Program. Candace attended schooling in Tempe, Ariz., for computer technology and she moved to Denver in 2009 to be close to family. She especially loved her nieces, nephews and cousins, sharing her patience and love with them. Candace was an avid sports fanatic for the Denver Nuggets Basketball and Oakland Raiders Football. She also had a rich sense of humor, everyone enjoyed being around her and she was known as a “jokester”. Candace was active in Southern Ute Tribal tradition having traveled to Pow-Wows and other ceremonies. She is survived by her father Gregory Box of Bayfield, Colo.; Brothers: Craig Box of Ignacio, and Loren Watts of Aurora, Colo., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Watts, brother, Richard Box, her grandmother, Rosa Watts, grandfather, Fritz Box, and other extended family and relatives.
