Sawyer moved to Durango from Denver with his parents in 2002, when he was about a year old. He attended Miller Middle School where he was an eighth-grader. He loved going to school, playing soccer, skiing, skateboarding, mountain biking and playing on the river. He was very close to his family, especially his younger sister, Ruby. Sawyer was so smart and funny, and will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor, inquisitive mind, endearing smile and caring nature. He brought great joy to all around him and words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Sawyer died Tues., May 12, in his home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
