Beverly Jane (Blackley) Walthall passed away on March 1, 2021 at the Mercy Hospital ER, suffering from the heartbreak of losing her husband, Wayne of over 70 years, less than 3 months ago.
Beverly was born in Anson, Texas on Sept. 26, 1932 to Vernon and Maurine (Littlefield) Blackley. Her family moved to Morton, Texas in 1943 for her dad to farm. Beverly graduated from Morton High in 1950 and married Wayne the next day. They moved to Levelland, Texas with their 2 boys in 1955, then later to Hobbs, NM in 1959. Beverly decided to start college in 1967 after substituting teaching for 3 years and finished her degree in 1970 and proceeded to teach elementary school for the next 19 years. In 1989 Beverly and Wayne moved to Durango to retire. They had a constant stream of visitors and made many new friends for the next 31 years.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her 3 younger sisters: Nancy Ellis, Judy Coleman and Susan McAnelly; her husband Wayne and her granddaughter Kendra Walthall.
She is survived by her sons: Gary of Durango and Michael (Nancy) of Albuquerque, NM; her granddaughter Jamie of St Tomas USVI as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was very well loved by all. A small family graveside will be held at a later date.
