Violette Ruth Coulter

Violette Ruth Coulter, 101, of Durango, Colorado passed away peacefully at her home on October 11, 2023. She was born on July 11, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to John Rakosnik and Emma Klenka. At the end of World War II, Violette married Robert Stuart Coulter, February 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. They had three children, a son, Craig, and two daughters, Donna and Deborah.

Violette and Robert lived in Hutchinson, Kansas, Kremling, Colorado, and Grand Junction before moving to Durango in 1952. She loved creating a home, cooking, sewing and gardening.  

Violette is survived by her children; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert; her parents, John and Emma; and her sister, Dorothy.

A service has been held at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado where she was laid to rest with her husband, Robert.
