Obituary for Patricia F. Valencia
Patricia Faye Valencia died Friday, October 14, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was 71.
Patricia was born March 17, 1940, in Telluride, Colo., daughter of Lafayette and Minnie Porterfield. She grew up in Telluride and came to Durango in 1958. She married Lloyd Valencia in 1956 in Aztec, N.M.
She was employed by Durango Trading and Rio Grande Trading, D & G Auto, and Village Inn. She enjoyed arts and crafts, camping, family get-togethers, and get-a-ways with the girls.
She is survived by son Jerry Valencia of Durango, son Randy Valencia of Mancos, sister Geri Peterson of Grand Lake, Colo.; former spouse Lloyd Valencia of Durango; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by six siblings.
A visitation will take place from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Hood Mortuary. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Raymond Mestas of Calvary International Assembly of God will be officiating.
