Kelly Wayne Turner, 61, of Durango Co, died 05.19.2020. Born to Cecil Turner and LaNeil Eikelman Turner 10.05.1958 in Durango. Kelly graduated from Durango High School. He was known for his distinct laugh and infectious smile and wicked sense of humor. Growing up, Kelly worked many years at Lori's Family Dining. Kelly was an excellent Line Cook who expected the food he cooked to be taken out immediately! After Lori's he worked as a cabinet maker and helped build the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Cabinets. Later in life he spent many years at Kroegor's and Lewis Merc. He married Brandye Jackson in 1981. They had one daughter, Briana. They later divorced in 2003 but remained partners in taking care of their family. He is survived by his daughter Briana Turner and her husband Jason Fuller, grandkids Amelia, Elijah, and Ethan, nephews Geoff and Daniel Turner and niece Alyn Turner, brother in law Delvin Gregg, Brandye Turner, many cousins and so, so many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil, brother David, mother LaNeil, and sister Darla. A celebration of life with be held in July, announced on Facebook. Finally, Kelly was a man who wouldn't judge another man for wearing women's clothing but if you cut him off in traffic you were going to hell!
