DAN LEE TUCKER of Bayfield, Colorado went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2016, with his wife and son by his side. Dan was born May 18, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Harold and Deloris Tucker. Dan attended the University of Michigan and graduated with two BS degrees and a Master’s degree in wildlife management in 1968. He worked a short time for the US Forest Service but spent most of his career with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, which he retired from in 1997.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lilian and their children, Donna Collins, Bill (Harmony) Tucker, and Lars (Michelle) Mitchell. Dan was proud of his children and even more of his grandchildren, Zara Tucker, Alaina Mitchell, Dylan Collins, Ian Mitchell, Peter Tucker, and Liam Mitchell. He is also survived by his brother Ed (Phyllis) Tucker, sisters Victoria Roach, MaryAnn Moore, and Cassandra Tucker.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Durango, CO. This will be a time to celebrate the amazing life of this truly remarkable man. Any donations can be made in Dan’s honor to The Nature Conservancy or to FUMC c/o Jaden, who is also fighting cancer.
