Steve Torres

Steve Allen Torres, 21, of Durango, Colorado suddenly left us October 3, 2019. He was born July 31, 1998 in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Durango at age 12 after falling in love with the mountains. Steve loved snowboarding at Purgatory, hiking the 14ers, camping at the many lakes around Durango, and Kayaking on the Animas River. He was a caring individual and often spent time listening to friends helping them recognize their strengths and values. Steve attended Miller Middle School where he played La Crosse, followed by Durango Big Picture High School. After high school he worked at various local businesses including Inferno Skate Shop, Dalton Golf Club and Sunnyside Meats. Steve is survived by his mother Marisa Stubbs of San Diego and his father Steve D. Torres of Los Angeles, California, his grandparents William C. and Nancy Stubbs of Durango CO, his great grandmother, Louise Unger also of Durango and his Uncle Bill and Aunt Jillian Stubbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Services will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel on October 19th at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
