Timothy Bruce Daniel

Timothy Bruce Daniel, better known as Tim or "Papa Tim", was born on April 29, 1956 at 4:31 AM in Durango, CO. He passed away on December 1st, 2022, shortly after celebrating Thanksgiving with his family in Hesperus, CO.
 
Tim's parents were Faye Baird and Carrol Daniel. They moved to Phoenix, AZ where Tim we to high school, but dropped out to move back to Durango and help his grandpa, Brant Baird.
 
Tim loved all animals, but was especially his happiest around cows, dogs, and horses. For many years, he chased cows on his horse, Buck. "He always liked a horse that was a little goosey." He built roads, ran heavy equipment, and even enjoyed plowing snow in the winter.
 
In his earlier years, Tim could do fast "cowboy style" dancing. He loved to dance at Richard's Lounge, Velma's and many other spots in Durango.
 
His first wife was Debra Herrera (now Tafoya), they had one daughter together, Toni Sue Herrera (now Morgan). Toni Sue was named after her grandpa, Tony Herrera.
 
In 1981, he married Sharon Daniel, and adopted Shannon Daniel. They were married for 14 years and worked on Owl Springs Ranch together.
 
Tim will always be remembered as a hard-working cowboy, caring grandpa, father and husband, as well as a care-taker to many animals, including seven stray cats he took under his wing until he passed.
 
Tim is survived by his daughter Toni Sue Morgan, step-daughter Shannon Daniel, brothers Jerry and Craig Daniel, sister Robin Herod, granddaughters Monty Daniel and Shay Connell-Daniel, second wife/close friend Sharon Daniel, and many loving animals.
 
Tim was preceded in death by his last wife, Sharman Denison, as well as his parents, and grandparents, Brant and Virgie Baird.
