Timothy “Tim” Andre Dionne, a beloved member of the Durango, Colorado community passed away on July 23, 2024 surrounded by family at his home at the age of 54. He was born in Portland, Maine on January 21, 1970 and grew up in Maine. He also lived in New York and spent the latter part of his life in Durango where he found his home. A graduate of Lewiston High School, he went to the University of Maine Farmington and SUNY New Paltz. In New York, he worked at the Mohonk Mountain House and in Colorado he worked at The Payroll Department, Mercury Payment Systems and at St. Columba Church.
Throughout his life,Tim was happiest when he was on the ice playing hockey or in nature. He was a lifelong hockey player and enthusiast from high school to an adult driving the zamboni and officiating at games. He coached and mentored many players, most recently at Fort Lewis College.
He traveled extensively in his treasured orange Honda Element, Clement, which he converted into a mini-home. He loved music and was an avid Dave Matthews Fan attending over 100 concerts all over the country. His hobbies included mountain biking, hiking and mountain climbing. He was a lover of outdoor sports and nature.
Tim’s life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family and the impact one person can have on the world around them. He volunteered at Hospice of Mercy, Durango and Dogtown, Kanab, Utah. He cherished his Catholic faith and it was a great support to him throughout his life.
Tim was predeceased by his step father, George Collins. He will lovingly be remembered by his mother, Jeanne Collins; father, Andre Dionne, his siblings, Marie (Anthony) San Nicolas, Patrick (Debbie) Dionne and Celine Martin (Toby Chipman), and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30th at St. Columba Catholic Church in Durango, Colorado. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Mercy, Durango or Hockey Fights Cancer - V Foundation.
