Robert Thompson

Robert Anthony Thompson passed away Sunday, May 06, 2018, at his home. He was 54 years old.
RT was born February 09, 1964, to Florence Williams and the late Rutherford Loneman Sr. as Melvin Williams. He was adopted by his late uncle William Salazar Thompson Sr. and late Doris Anne Red in Ignacio, Colorado. He was then taken to California and raised by his foster parents the late Raymond and late Theresa Salsedo. RT would spend summers in Hawaii growing up. In later years he would take others there to share his love for Hawaii.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 10 years. RT returned to Ignacio in the late 80's. He loved to fish, hunt, and listen to music. His life revolved around the Oakland Raiders and he made friends based on their shared love of the Raiders. RT was known for his generosity to his family and friends, his laughter, his quick wit, and constant jokes just to see a smile on everyones face.
He is survived by his birth mother Florence Williams, his step mother Tami Weage, his significant other Violet Leslie, his English Bulldog Shotgun, his niece Shelly Thompson and her son Zechariah Red, 7 sisters; Evelyn (Robert) Burch, Marge Barry, Denise Thompson, Willette Whiteskunk, Williamette (Raymond) deKay, Hilda Burch, & Merry Williams. 3 brothers; Raymond (Michelle) Salsedo, Ian (AJ) Thompson, & Tyson (Kateri) Thompson. 7 Children; Joel Stewart, Jared (Gabby) Carel, Nalani Thompson, Antonio Thompson, Kiana Thompson, Loren Frost, & Alexis Thompson, and 6 grandchildren. Many more family and friends.
He is preceded in death by birth father Rutherford Loneman Sr., adopted parents William and Doris Thompson, His foster parents Raymond and Theresa Salsedo, sisters Lizabeth Kent, Jeanette Linden, and brother William Thompson Jr..
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 09, 2018 at Hood Mortuary Chapel from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 10:00 am, at Southern Ute Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Ouray Cemetery.
