Tamianne Weage, 76, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away on June 27, 2023 in Durango, Colorado after a long battle with cancer.
Tamianne Weage was born in Coldwater, Michigan to David and Margarette Weage on January 3rd, 1947. The family moved several times, settling in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she attended and graduated from High School. Her first job was with their neighbor's bakery in Ann Arbor which she worked for several years. Tami also worked in the local dentist office and landed a job with a local travel agency. Always looking for an adventure Tami decided to go West. She was on her way to Alaska and decided to stop in Colorado to visit a friend, where she met William S. Thompson. She married William and had two sons, Ian and Tyson. Her expansive family also included 6 daughters, an adoptive son and an entire community encompassing the Southern Ute Tribe and surrounding community. She found joy in working at the local HeadStart and later worked at the Butch McClanahan Town Library in its infancy. She had plenty of heart to go around and many considered her a surrogate mother, sister, and friend. Tami was an accomplished seamstress, producing an entire wardrobe for a trip to France; an incredible baker, which included masterful wedding cakes; and an ingenious craftsperson, creating an extensive cultural world doll collection with authentic traditional regalia crafted by hand for educational purposes.
She is preceded in death by her parents David and Margerette Weage, her beloved sister Diedre Weage, daughter Lizabeth (Elwood, deceased) Kent and Robert Thompson.
Tamianne is survived by her sons Ian (AJ), Tyson (Ciara), daughters Evelyn (Robert) Burch, Denise Thompson, Marge (Ben, deceased) Barry, Willette (Edward, deceased) Whiteskunk, and Williamette (Ray) deKay, Tami's sisters Stacy (Tom) McColly and Debbie Weage plus numerous Grandchildren and great Grandchildren.
The family of Tamianne wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Junction Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center staff, especially Sam, Latoya, Elva, and Carrie plus the numerous doctors, nurses, and staff at the Durango Cancer Center, Centura Mercy Hospital, Wound care, Dixie Melton, Life Care, plus all the caregivers and transport persons.
