Obituary for
Eloise B. "Lois" Talbert (Boucher)
Long time Durango resident, Eloise B. Talbert, age 93, died peacefully at her home February 4, 2015.
Born December 16, 1921 in Ridgway, Colorado, daughter of Roy and Mary Bernice Boucher. Married Gilbert Talbert July 21, 1942 in Fitchburg, MA. Eloise and her mother rode the train across the country to meet Gilbert for the wedding. He preceded her in death April 15, 1997. Member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and the P.E.O., Durango, CO, wonderful sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, card player, fisherwoman and gardener.
She provided a lesson in grace and dignity for all of us and she will always have a special place in our hearts.
Survived by sister Mildred (Bob) Buckley, Salt Lake City; nephews and nieces, Deborah (Lance) Matticks, Randy (Ginny) Buckley, Ron (Jennifer) Buckley, Salt Lake City, James (Karla) Willschau, Monte Vista, CO, Kathleen Joseph Daniel, Pagosa Springs, CO and Tim Joseph, Phoenix, AZ, Bob (Kathy)Willschau, Del Norte, CO and Sharon (Glen) Webe, Silverton, CO; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and constant companion, Lilly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, in Durango, Colorado, at St. Mark’s Church, at 2:00 p.m. Interment at St. Mark’s columbarium. Family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Eloise Talbert Memorial Fund, C/O St Mark's Episcopal Church, Third Avenue and 8th Street, Durango, CO 81301.
