Donald R. Swart
Donald Ray Swart, 79, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at home in Bayfield, Colo. No services are planned at this time.
Mr. Swart was born August 12, 1933, in Sayre, Okla., the son of William and Gracie Swart. At age 10, his family moved to Richmond, Calif. He enlisted in the Army during the Korea War.
Don was married to Marion Fowble. He worked as a master carpenter in California as well as built boats, commercial fishing, bred horses and restored classic autos.
While in Bayfield, he built his home and worked on the family’s ranch.
He is survived by two daughters, Dani Marsh of El Cajon, Calif., and Denice Hansen of Indianapolis, Ind., a brother, Dale Swart of Lakeside, Calif., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his first wife, Marion L. Swart in 1972, his recent wife Judy Swart 1995, and a son, Dwight Swart in 1994.
