Oralia Azusena Suazo, age 96 passed away March 2, 2022 at The Valley Inn long term care in Mancos, Colorado. Known as Aunt Rae to the family and "Rae" to friends. She was born to Martin and Juanita (Lente) Suazo on March 29, 1925 in Parkview, New Mexico. Rae attended Sacred Heart Catholic School first through eighth grades in Durango CO. She graduated from Durango High School in 1944. Her first job was as a cashier at Gordon's Department store in Durango. She left Colorado to join her sister Elidia in Livermore, California. Rae worked 15 years in the bakery department for Safeway. In her retirement Rae was a lady on the go. She enjoyed traveling to far away places by bus, plane, trains and cruise ships. She volunteered her time to a hospital gift shop and thrift store as a cashier. Her hobbies were reading, crocheting blankets, going for walks, and watching her favorite game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Rae is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elidia, brothers Fred, Joe, and her brother-in-law Bob Lee. She is survived by her nieces; Agnes Suazo, Cecilia Suazo, Susie Suazo-Sanchez (Steve Sanchez), and her relatives in Utah, California, Nevada, and Durango. A Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 9:00am on March 9, 2022 with Mass to follow at 10:00am. Internment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
