Stacey Renee Owen

Stacey Renee Owen, 45, passed away on May 17, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee, following a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on January 22, 1979, in Poway, California, Stacey was the cherished daughter of Alice (Murtagh) Howerton and the late Robert Owen. She is survived by her stepfather, Randy Howerton, sister Elizabeth Carpenter, along with 2 nieces and 2 nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Stacey was preceded in death by her stepfather/Dad Bobby Thompson, paternal and maternal grandparents, her uncle Rick Murtagh, aunt Kelly Murtagh, and much loved cousin Hickory Holcomb. 

Stacey completed her high school education at Durango High School, where she played violin in the Orchestra. She furthered her culinary passion by attending L’Ecole Culinaire. She fulfilled her greatest aspiration by becoming a chef, a career that took her to work at the Hard Rock Cafe in notable cities including Memphis, New Orleans, and Biloxi. Her culinary creations were much loved by all who had the pleasure of experiencing them.

A graveside memorial service to honor Stacey’s life will be held later this year. Her legacy of warmth, culinary excellence, and the joy she brought to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
