Donald Lloyd Sower, 83 of Bayfield, Colorado, passed away on June 23, 2022 after living a fulfilling life. Don was born on 5/19/1939 to Cecil and Gertrude Sower in Durango, Colorado. Don married Mardella Marshall on December 21, 1958. Don and Mardella went on to have four children, Dawnella (Terry), Cynthia (Lloyd), Daren (Connie), and Mitchel. Don and Mardella divorced in May of 1976. In 1979 Don met Peggy A Carmichael, they married on 04/29/2005. Peggy has three children, Kendall (Cathy), KC (Tammy), and Kris. Don was a businessman and Entrepreneur in Bayfield, Colorado and surrounding areas. Don loved to take things apart and put them together. During his career in development, Don designed and implemented several water systems. He had the adaptation and knowledge to fix almost anything. You could find Don, riding horses, hunting, panning for gold, rock hounding, fishing and enjoying life with Peggy and family. Don is survived by brothers, James Sower, and Vernon Sower both of Bayfield. wife, Peggy Ann Sower, children Dawnella (Terry), Cynthia (Lloyd), Daren (Connie), Mitch, stepchildren Kendall (Cathy), KC (Tammy), Kris. grandchildren, Dr. Heidi (Wade) Luter, Trent (Smriti) McGee, Tandy (Dwight) Martin, Dr. Brandon Luter, Colter (Krystal) Villers, Mariah Sower, Jeremiah Sower, Shelly McCorkle, Kelly Vrtatko, James Vrtatko, Henry Carmichael and numerous great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father, Cecil Wayne Sower, mother, Gertrude Sower, sister Janet Vaughn, Mardella Sower. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any horse rescue, or Bayfield Library. A Graveside service will be held at Bayfield Cemetery on June 30, 2022 at10:00 AM.
