Virginia (Jinny) Wales Schive passed away Thursday, September 18th at Four Corners Health Care Center. She was 84. Jinny was born in Buffalo, New York on July 5th, 1930. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Iowa State University. A longtime resident of Arizona, she owned Sedona’s Country Store and was also a real estate broker there. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. Jinny was a wonderfully talented and award-winning knitter. She moved to Durango about 1985 and worked at Creative Corners and then at Gossamer Threads and taught many people to knit - sweaters, scarves, mittens, and socks. She was a beautiful, witty, vivacious, creative, warm-hearted woman who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Martha Wales and her children Robbie and Mimi whom she lost too soon and loved dearly. Jinny is survived by her daughter Jennifer.
