Christopher Romero

Christopher was born in Sterling, Colorado but spent most of his life in Ignacio. He graduated from Ignacio High School and went on to pursue his interest in personal training at Apollo College. Later in life he became a father to a son and daughter. He enjoyed spending time with his children doing all sorts of activities. He enjoyed listening to low rider oldies, 90's rap music, chicano rap. He had a passion for supporting his favorite teams the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. He collected limited edition sneakers. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and living life to the fullest. To everyone he was known as “Sapo”. If he considered you a true friend you were a friend for life.

He is survived by his children, Dawrence and Lillianna, parents, Linda and Pete Rivera, two grandchildren, Sophia and Zerek, brother, Martin Rivera, aunts, Sally (Danny) Bean, Elaine Herrera, uncles, Robert (Sue) Martinez, Farmington, NM. LeRoy (Jorgina) Herrera, Michael (Sharon) Herrera, Anthony Herrera all from Ignacio, father, Steve Romero (Josie Salazar), siblings, Tracy (Kevin) Maxwell, Aubrey Knoll and Daniel Romero. Aunt, Dolores (Dino) Lobato and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Mary Herrera, Daniel and Josie Romero and his uncles, Danny and Thomas Romero and Felix Herrera.

There will be a Rosary on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 5pm at St Ignatius Catholic Church. A Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, June 10, 2022, with burial to follow at Ignacio (West) Cemetery.
