Donald Rock

Donald William “Billy” Rock was born on March 27, 1933 at Taylor Hospital in Ignacio Colorado. Donald passed away on August 27, 2022 surrounded by family. He attended the Ute Vocational school in Ignacio. He then enlisted in the US Army as a medic and was stationed in France. Donald worked for the Southern Ute Tribal Maintenance for 30 years. He also worked part time as a firefighter. He enjoyed working on the family ranch.

Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Priscilla Flores Rock, mother and father Alice Poor Washington Rock and Bryan Rock Sr. Sisters Mercedes Baker, Grace Rock, Annette Sage, Rose Rock and brother Bryan Rock Jr. His grandchildren Iris Rock, Darvin Rock, Dionna Rock and Samantha Rock.

Donald is survived by his children, Tina (Roland) Norris, Zachary (Debra) Rock, Carol Rock, Ronald Rock, Irma Rock, Elmer (Dawn) Rock and his niece Marge Barry. His eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel in Ignacio, Colorado September 1, 2022 at 10 am.
