Richard Robinson, devoted husband and avid outdoorsman, passed away at his home in Durango, CO on July 27th. On that day, the world lost a wonderful man. He made this rock better by "doing". His activism and tireless volunteering should be an example for each of us. Richard was born in Milwaukee, WI to Jacques and Frances Robinson. The family later moved to Phoenix, AZ where Richard attended high school. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. After graduating, he backpacked throughout Colorado, and it was "Love at 1st Sight". For most of his working career, he worked in the field of analytical chemistry in Sante Fe, NM. While there, he met and married Linda Gregg in 1985. He then spent the remainder of his working career at the Los Alamos National Laboratory retiring in 2001. He and Linda then moved to their home in Durango. Richard is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home, sister, Barbara and Roger LaPointe, and sister and brother in law, Maureen and Thomas Matestic. No service is planned. In Lieu of flowers, a tribute donation may be made in thee name of Richard Robinson to: Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, ScholarshipFund,23390 Road K, Cortez, Co 81321. His wish was that young people might experience the joy of this living classroom.
