Obituary for Rodney Ray Robinette, Sr.

Rodney Robinette, Sr. 54 peacefully passed away after a long hard battle with Multiple Sclerosis on February 8, 2016. He was born on March 4, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Bonner and Shirley Robinette.
In 1978 he married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Pond and together they raised their daughter, Malissa and their son, Rodney, Jr. As a young man he excelled as exceptional painter. He also loved to work on his sawmill. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some if his best times were spent hunting with his son Rodney, Jr. He loved to watch and cheer on his daughter as she played soccer. He was a family man first. He worked tooth and nail to make sure his wife and kids had everything they wanted. Some of his favorite hobbies included: boating, camping, hunting, fishing, and talking on his C.B. Family was everything to him. One of his favorite sayings was, “Keep on keeping on!”
He is survived by his two children: Malissa (husband Clay) Barkley and Rodney, Jr. (wife Wendy); his grandsons: Seth, Tyler and Cole Barkley; his granddaughters: Hailey, Macy and Kammy Robinette; his siblings: Ronney, Randey and Rhonda; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Four Corners Nursing Staff for taking exceptional care of Rod, Sr. and Mercy Hospice for their compassion during the last few weeks of his life. He was one brave man that many will admire.
