Obituary for Shirley A. Robbins
Durango resident, Shirley Robbins, was called home to be with our Lord, February 14, 2012. She was 68.
Shirley was born May 4, 1943, in Florence, Colo. She moved to Wyoming for 16 years, then moved back to Florence for 19 years and she has lived in Durango for the past 12 years.
Shirley worked as an LPN and she loved, and was devoted to, caring for others. Shirley was a compassionate and giving soul and found joy in her family, her friends and her faith. Shirley loved to read from her Bible, tend to her garden and flowers, as well as cooking and baking for others. Shirley had the special and unique gift to bring light and inspiration to those who were blessed to have known her wonderful and cheerful personality.
Shirley is survived by her three children, John Ramirez (Durango), Victor Ramirez (Durango), and Theresa Ramirez (Durango); her four grandchildren, Julia Ramirez (Brady, Texas), Stephanie
Ramirez (Brady, Texas), Victor J. Ramirez (Oceanside, Calif.), and Rose Cruz (Brady, Texas); and her three great grandchildren, Nicholas Gloria (Brady, Texas), Donté Ramirez (Oceanside, Calif.) and Collin Ramirez (Oceanside, Calif.).
Shirley was preceded in death by Dennis Robbins, her husband of 25 years.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2012, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Hood Mortuary Chapel.
