Obituary for Kevin L. Relaford
Kevin Lester Relaford died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at his home in Durango. He was 59.
Kevin was born October 14, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Howard and Barbara Relaford. He graduated from Peoria High School in Phoenix. He became a machinist, and he worked as an aerospace machinist for various companies. Kevin and Debbra Burgess were married April 1, 1989, in Phoenix.
Kevin was an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and loved any activity he could do with his hands, including making arrows and working with leather. He enjoyed archery and spending time with his Corgis -- Shailee, Hamish, and Trystan. He particularly enjoyed his most recent job as a driver for Buckhorn Limousine Service.
He is survived by his wife, Debbra Relaford, and stepmother, Georgia Relaford, both of Durango; son, Michael Burgess, of Farmington, N.M.; daughter, Andrea (Robert) Albert, of Surprise, Ariz.; granddaughter, Alexandria Albert, and grandson, Robert Albert, Jr., of Surprise, Ariz.; sister Leslie (Randy) Ponce of Durango, sister Kerin Day, and nephews Doug and Max Ponce, both of Durango, and nephew Jason Day.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011. Please call Mike at 970-426-9304 for directions to the service.
