Mr. Rejholec was born August 13, 1953, in Nyack, N.Y., the son of Rudolph and Evelyn (Knakal) Rejholec. Jeffrey grew up and attended schools in Nyack, where he excelled in football and lacrosse. In 1971, he graduated from Nyack High School and shortly afterwards, moved to Durango to attend Fort Lewis College. While he was pursuing an art degree, Mr. Rejholec began working public safety. He became employed through Fort Lewis College as a police officer and remained there until 2007. Alongside his devotion for law enforcement, Mr. Rejholec loved to be with family. He enjoyed outings in the mountains, trips to the lake, and teaching his children about the stars. He liked to cook and his family fondly recalls that, "his best dish was green chili smothered burritos." Mr. Rejholec was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan and also enjoyed reading US history. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quite the entertainer. Mr. Rejholec loved art and was very talented, however his greatest talent was his capacity to love.
