Born in Denver in 1949, Randy lived with his family in Fort Lupton, Colorado; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Aurora, Colorado, Oxon Hill, Maryland; Montgomery, Alabama, and then moved back to Durango to be close to family. Randy grew up loving the Irish and Scottish music that his mother sang to all of her children. He was one of the founding members of the Wild Geese Band in Durango, and had a multitude of musicians as dear friends. Randy loved the mountains, camping, and exploring the outdoors. For a number of years, Randy was employed by the National Park Service, and later served as Animal Control officer for La Plata County. He will be missed.
Randy is survived by Robert Neil Boyd, brother, Montgomery County, Maryland; Marilyne K. Boyd, sister, Parker, Colorado; and Charles A Boyd, Montgomery, Alabama. Four nieces and one nephew also survive.
Randy was predeceased by his parents and a niece, Erin Rose Shine.
The family requests that no floral or other contributions be made. Instead, the family requests that you support your local Irish, Scottish and Blue Grass musicians and all the rest.
