Loria Lynn Quintana (Hunt)
Loria Lynn Hunt Quintana, 22, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Bayfield, Colorado. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel on Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Ms. Hunt was born October 28, 1990 in Onley, Illinois the daughter of John E. Hunt and Janell Eaker. Loria grew up in Lawrenceville, Ill. and also lived in Washington, Ill. She was involved in ROTC while in Illinois before moving to Colorado in 2007. Loria held various jobs while in Colorado. She worked for CRG Construction and was a ranch hand for Kevin and Connie Wing. At the time of her passing, Loria was still ranching and getting ready for hunting camp season. She was thoroughly passionate for all aspects of cattle ranching and of the great outdoors. She enjoyed video documenting and commentating her day to day on the ranch with her phone. “Over the hills, through the paths and all hours of any given day, cattle meant the world to Loria,” fondly recalls her husband, “her dedication and nurturing spirit towards cattle was boundless.” Loria was fondly considered a "Jill-of-all-trades". She also liked to read, cook, garden, watch the TV show, "The Big Bang Theory" and the humor of Abbott and Costello. She took great care of her home, canned food and was a talented artist. She drew with pencil, charcoal and wrote calligraphy. She is survived by Bill Quintana (husband) of Bayfield, CO, John Hunt (father) of Grand Junction, CO, Janell Eaker (mother) of Washington, IN, Jeremy Hunt (brother) of New Castle, IN, Lisa Evans (sister) of Washington, IN, Garrett (nephew) and Angelina (a niece on the way).
