Obituary for
Eloy E. Quintana
Eloy D. Quintana died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in Salt Lake City. He was 93.
Mr. Quintana was born March 16, 1918, in Rosa N.M. He grew up in Durango, and he served in the Air Force during World War II. He enlisted Oct. 3, 1940, at Grand Jct., Colo., and he was discharged Sept. 2, 1945, at Ft. McPherson, Ga.
He married Cecelia Montoya in 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango. The couple had been married for 65 years when she preceded him in death August 2, 2011. He was a professional truck driver and owned his own business. A highly decorated veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4031.
He is survived by brother, Rumaldo Quintana, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sisters Juanita Quintana of Salt Lake City, and Josephine Roller of San Mateo, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Cecelia, ten siblings and his parents.
A private memorial service will be held.
