Obituary for
Troy M. Pugh
Troy Mitchell Pugh, age 50, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in Durango, Colorado.
Troy was born April 20, 1962, in Denver, and was adopted by Bill and Barbara Pugh when he was three months old.
Troy grew up in Durango, graduating from Durango High School in 1982. He attended Fort Lewis College for a short time, and then decided to join the U.S. Navy. He was in the Navy from 1982 until 1986. When he returned to Durango, he attended EMT school and worked at Mercy Hospital in the emergency room. He later attended paramedic training at Swedish Hospital in Denver.
Troy and Susan were married in August of 1991, and their son Kalin was born in 1993. Troy was manager of Kroeger's Garden Center in Durango and later managed Four Seasons Greenhouse and Nursery in Dolores. In 2000, he began his own landscaping business, Cornerscape Designs.
His greatest pride and love was for his wife and son. He enjoyed landscaping, music, and drawing. He played first chair trumpet in high school and enjoyed drawing cartoons in the tradition of Disney. Recently, he had begun teaching himself Italian.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Bill Pugh, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Susan Pugh, son, Kalin Pugh, mother, Barbara Pugh, sister, Jana Pugh, brother, Grant Pugh, all of Durango; aunt, Mary Lou from PA; several nieces & nephews and numerous other family members.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 7th, at 5:30 pm, Santa Rita Park, next to the visitor center.
