Obituary for
Jimmy D. Paul
Jimmy Dondi Paul, 43, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at Four Corners Healthcare Center in Durango, Colo.
Mr. Paul was born April 14, 1968, in Durango. He attended Ignacio schools, but obtained his GED at Job Corps in Riverside, Calif. He did various labor jobs in his youth. As he was growing up, he enjoyed fishing, and riding his dirt bikes and four wheelers. He also enjoyed hanging out with his “bros,” and his family, listening to music -- especially rock and oldies, and rooting for those Broncos!
He is preceded in death by his parents Avalina Paul and Jim Box, Sr., and grandmother, Ophelia Padilla, whom he loved dearly. Mr. Paul is survived by his only child, Jalisa Raven Paul, and grandson, Orion Hunter Watts, of Ignacio; siblings Deadra Contreras of Ignacio, Izreal Contreras of Minnesota, Jim Box, Jr., and Curtis Paul; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and his companion of nine years, Alberta.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Hood Mortuary Chapel in Durango. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, at Southern Ute Memorial Chapel in Ignacio, with Deacon Larry Tucker officiating. Burial will occur at Ignacio West Cemetery in Ignacio. A dinner will follow at the Southern Ute Multi-Purpose Building in Ignacio.
