Obituary for Alice E. Park
Alice Eugenia Estella Strobel Park died Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Durango, Colo. She was 97.
Mrs. Park was born August 13, 1913, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Harley and May Strobel. Mrs. Park lived more than 90 years in Durango, having retired in 1978 with 33 years of service with the telephone company. She was a member of the LDS church, Eastern Star, Telephone Pioneers and she was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was the LDS church librarian for 17 years and also ran a day care center for 10 years.
She is survived by Willie Garnand (daughter) of Durango; May Ann Parker (daughter) of Flora Vista, N.M.; Donna Salyer (daughter) of Santa Rosa, Calif.; David Park (son) of Farmington, N.M.; Jack Park (son) of Brighton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, Leveina Bottoms (sister) of Carlisle, W. Australia.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Harlene Murray, her husband Claude Park, and her son Fred Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Our mother has always been there for all seven of her children -- Willie, MayAnn, Harlene (left before her), Donna, David, Fred (left before her) and Jack.
Mama worked hard for all of us and now she has received her heavenly reward. We know Mama will be our guardian angel still watching over us. She has left behind five living children, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. Mother will be missed by her family and many friends.
