Frank Bernard Pacheco
Frank Bernard Pacheco, 66, died of cancer Saturday, December 28, 2013 at home surrounded by family and friends in Durango, Colorado. Born in the Mexican Flats neighborhood of Durango to Frank Joe Pacheco and Frances E. Montoya Pacheco on September 29, 1947, Mr. Pacheco lived all of his life in Durango. Frank attended Smiley Jr. High. Frank married Rose Mary Lucero on December 18, 1965, they had four children together. Frank was employed at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for 27 years as Senior Track Patrolman. Frank loved to tell stories from his days working on the railroad and playing pool. He especially loved his animals and watching his favorite team the Denver Broncos play. The family remembers that Frank’s favorite sayings were “Plan ahead so you don’t fall behind” and “Common sense makes common knowledge”. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Frances Pacheco and brothers Billy Ray and Joseph Golden Pacheco. Frank is survived by his wife of 48 years Rose Mary Pacheco of Durango, CO, daughters LaDonna Manore of Durango and Michelle Salazar, sons Frank Pacheco Jr. and Lenard Pacheco all of Farmington, New Mexico, sisters Laverne Pacheco of Durango, Dorothy Delgado and Josephine Escojeda of Farmington, brother Robert Pacheco of Durango, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Joseph Gallegos C.R. of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango.
