Maxine Natzke

February 13, 1917 — November 16, 2014

Maxine Elizabeth Natzke was born on February 13, 1917, in Kahoka, Missouri. She was born the twin daughter of Edna and Russell Flowers. She moved to Keokuk, Iowa, at an early age where she eventually graduated from Keokuk High School.
She worked as a secretary in Keokuk until 1943 when she moved to Denver, Colorado. Then she married Kenneth Natzke on April 13, 1947. Together they raised 5 children. They moved to Corrales, N.M. in 1952 and lived there until 1971 when she and Ken purchased Lake Haven Resort and Rainbow Lodge and Marina at Vallecito Lake, Colorado.
She was an avid traveler; visited all 50 states and providences of Canada. She spent winters in Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. She also spent months in Africa and Spain.
She was very active in the Lutheran Church, and enjoyed bowling and bridge with her friends. She battled with Alzheimer’s for the last decade of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Natzke, brother: Warren, twin sister: Maurine Hinz Flowers, sister: Joan Seefeld, Daughter: Marsha England and grandsons: Brian and Craig England.
She is survived by her brothers: Mark Flowers and John Flowers, sister: Jeanette Scheel, Sons: Kirk and Greg Natzke, Daughters: Connie Yates and Jan Canterbury, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel, Friday, November 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Chaplain Earl Caudill will be officiating.
