Nancy McPhearson Evans (Holmes), 70, passed away on Monday, November 18th, 2024, in Durango, Colorado.
Nancy was born on February 6th, 1954, in Glendale, California, to George and Mary (Klopping) Holmes. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to Arizona, where she spent most of her life before relocating to Colorado in 2019.
She is survived by her daughters: Amber Dawn Powell (Neverdahl) and her husband Anthony; Morgan McPhearson Evans; Sabrina Mary Jane Strader (Evans) and her husband Jesse; and her grandchildren Raina (18), Ariana (14), Braysen (13), Shelby (11), and Cecil (9). She is also survived by her siblings Barbara, Michael, David, Raymond, Diana, Patty, and Joni. She is preceded in death by her stepfather Cecil Slaughter, mother Mary Slaughter (Klopping), and brothers George and Frederick.
Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church in Durango, CO, on Monday, December 2nd, 2024. A non-formal service will also be held in Arizona during early summer of 2025 for family and those unable to attend in December.

Nancy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, who will be remembered for her quiet strength and limitless kindness. While she was soft-spoken, her actions spoke volumes. She had an incredible impact on the people around her, always putting others first and giving everything she had to those in need—even when she had little to give herself. Her true love was her family, and she dedicated her life to making sure they were cared for and supported. In the last year of her life, Nancy experienced a beautiful spiritual transformation, finding peace and joy in her faith and attending church with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
