Margaret Mundt
Margaret Elnora Mundt, 88, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 due to Alzheimer’s disease at her daughter’s home in Durango. Mrs. Mundt was born November 14, 1924, to Grant Vincent and Anna Matilda Koons of Canon City, Colo. She was the fourth of six children. She graduated from Canon City High School in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mundt and two sons, Robert Lee Dossett and David Ray Walker. She enjoyed studying scripture and had a life-long love of horses and dogs. She enjoyed trail riding her horses with her friends in Canon City, well into her eighties. Margaret retired from Central West Basin Water District in southern California as an executive secretary and moved back home to Canon City. She also did accounting and tax preparation throughout her life. When her husband became ill in 2009 they moved to Durango to be with her family. While living in Durango, she attended the Alzheimer’s Adult Day Care at Our Place and enjoyed her friendships and many activities there. Her daughter stated she was loved and will be missed by all.She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Crook, sisters Louise Kulde of Cherry Valley, Calif. and Leonal Chase of Santee, Calif., seven grandchildren numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at the Pine River Cemetery, in Bayfield, CO on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Chaplain Bill Ball will officiate.
