Obituary for Virginia Miller

Virginia Miller, 94, of Crystal River, Fla., died of natural causes on May 26, 2012.

She was born to Alva and Frances West on May 31, 1917, in Little Rock, Ark. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School, and she was married to George E. Runshang, Sr., in 1937 in Little Rock.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and active in the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock. She was an avid hunter, fisherman, world traveler and golfer (even having a hole in one to her credit). The family remembers her hunting in the Duck Club's icy waters in hip waders. She was also out of state champion at the tarpon tournament in Florida.

She is survived by daughter, Keah Curran of Mesa, Ariz., and Bayfield, Colo., son George "Bud" Runshang, Jr., of Homosassa, Fla., and two granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Bayfield, Colo. Burial will follow at Pine River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
