Beryl Victoria Miller
Beryl Victoria Miller, 105, passed away September 21, 2013 in Durango, Colorado. Mrs. Miller was born October 27, 1907 in Petaluma, California the daughter of Johnathan and Sarah Rayner. She married Earl Fisher from Aztec, New Mexico and they had three children, Wayne, Earl and Fern. Mr. Fisher was killed when the children were very young and Beryl took her young children back to California to be near her family. She met and married her late husband Elmer Miller in California and lived in the Southern California area until moving to the Durango area in 1969. Beryl will be remembered as Granny, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. Her sewing pieces will be enjoyed for years by her family. Beryl and Elmer enjoyed traveling with their travel trailer and saw many sites across the United States. Her treasures in life were her dogs, they were her companions by her side always. Beryl was a very independent woman, after Mr. Miller died, it was not unusual for her to drive to California to visit her daughter or Arizona to visit her granddaughter well into her 80s. Being one month shy of her 106th birthday, Beryl experienced many changes of our world and always shared many stories with her grandchildren of the old days. She was proceeded in death by her husband Elmer Miller in 1974, her oldest son Wayne Fisher in 1979, her daughter in law Irene Fisher in 2003, and her youngest son Earl Fisher in 2010. She is survived by her daughter Fern Sinkler of Vista CA, her grandson Fred Fisher (Karen) of Durango CO, her granddaughter Vicki Fisher-Boone (Tom) of Phoenix AZ, seven other grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren. Graveside services were held 9/25/2013, and a memorial service with her daughter will be on 10/27/2013.
