Michael Stephen Smead

Michael (Mike) Stephen Smead, 70, of Durango Colorado, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at home. Born September, 20 1954 in Arlington Virginia. He was the son of Francis and Grace Smead. On October 13, 2007, He married the love of his life, Edna T. Kennedy, who he adored for 30 years.

Mike was a graduate of the University of Maryland, earning two Bachelor’s degrees from the School of Medicine. He was gifted with a sense in what people needed for holistic healing. He studied relentlessly for knowledge of healing and wellness methods and shared his gift freely with family and friends. 

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Barr (Steve) and brother Jeffery Smead, of Bellefonte PA, A niece and nephew Nicole Picerno (Angelo) and Zachary Brinkman (Cortney), and four great nephews/nieces: Taylor, Ryann, Anderson, and Nova. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Ida Hornberger, of Florida, two uncles and numerous cousins. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Grace Smead, brother Howard and wife Edna T. Kennedy. 

Mike and Edna traveled the world together having fun. He enjoyed gathering with friends and family. He leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished by his loved ones for years to come
