Michael "Mike" Edward Young

Michael “Mike” Young, 57, of Durango, Colorado passed away at home with his loving wife of 37 years, by his side. Mike fought his battle of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) with dignity and humor.

He was a creative and talented handyman. He provided his services with a smile to his family, friends and strangers alike. He enjoyed all outdoors, especially hunting, camping, four wheeling, boating, going to the beach, and many a beer & wine festival.

Mike earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a teenager, which led him to serve in the Youth Conservation Corps. He lived a life of service above himself and was a Paul Harris Fellow and an active member of the Rotary Club of Durango.

Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  

Survived by his wife Mary, his mother Elizabeth Young, brother Scott (Vivian) Young, niece Cheyenne Young, and nephew Troy Young. Preceded by his father Edward Young.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 2pm at Hood Mortuary Chapel in Durango.
