Obituary for Sophia H. Meyer
Sophia Meyer died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Bayfield, Colo. She was 93.
Mrs. Meyer was born June 30, 1918, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Bronislaw and Helen Kleczkowski, and she was raised in Jersey City. In April 1947, she married (Gerald) Fred Meyer. In 1955 they purchased their first home in Waldwick, N.J., moving into it in 1956. This is where they raised their two daughters. Mrs. Meyer moved to Colorado in 2010 to be with her granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Meyer, and her daughter Kathleen Hansen. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Gollis, of Glendale, Ariz.; granddaughter, Chastity Vasquez, of Bayfield, Colo.; and grandson, Steven Hansen, of Princeton Junction, N.J.
Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. A small service will be held in St. Columba Catholic Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
