Westin Clark "Boo" Maycock
Westin Clark “Boo” Maycock, 28, died Friday, September 30, 2011 in Durango, Colo. Services are scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Hood Mortuary Chapel in Durango.
Mr. Maycock was born January 14, 1983, in Kirkland, Washington, the son of Scott and Shelly Maycock. Westin grew up in Durango and graduated from Durango High School in 2001. In 2007 he served his rookie year with the Durango Fire and Rescue Authority as a volunteer EMT, for which he had been actively training.
Westin was a passionate and devoted father, a skilled and excellent handyman and builder, and a lifelong hunter and outdoors enthusiast. He was an avid fisherman and his friends were also his family. He loved his horses and his dog, Dakota.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Kierstin Elizabeth Maycock of Dove Creek, Colo., his parents, Scott and Shelly Maycock of Durango, His siblings: Andrea Rike (and her spouse, Brian) and Ryan Maycock (and his spouse, Autumn) both of Durango, Nieces and Nephews: Kayla and Jakob Maycock, and Everett and Avery Rike, his grandparents, Joice Bambrough (Maternal Grandmother) of Preston, Idaho, Loy and Carol Maycock (Paternal Grandparents) of Liberty Lake, Washington, and Jennie Maycock (Paternal Grandmother) of Orem, Utah, and finally, his trusted friend and companion, his dog, Dakota. His is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles and friend who loved him fiercely.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather (maternal), Dean Alma Bambrough.
