Mary Regan Caldwell, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2024, in Durango, Colorado. Born on July 10th, 1927, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Mary lived a full and inspiring life. Mary earned her Master’s degree in Teaching from Adams State University and dedicated her career to educating and inspiring countless students. She was a beloved and successful teacher, known for her passion for learning and her commitment to her students’ growth and success. Mary had a love for traveling, exploring both the world and the United States. Her adventurous spirit took her to many places, creating cherished memories and stories that she loved to share with her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Norris Caldwell, her son, Stephen Douglas Caldwell, her grandson, John Caldwell, her parents, Lena Rosanna Duncan and Earl Eugene Regan, and her brothers, John T. Regan and Paul E. Regan.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Paul Caldwell, her grandson, Wes (Shaylyn) Caldwell, her granddaughter, Charlotte Caldwell, and her great-grandchildren, Hailey (Major) Brown, Ryan N. Caldwell, Tyler A. Caldwell, Kamry Caldwell, Brooklyn Caldwell, Alyse Caldwell, and Jayce Caldwell. She also leaves behind her great-great-grandchildren, Elowyn Brown and Ivor Brown. Mary's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s memory. Mary will be remembered for her kindness, her passion for education, and her love for adventure. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
