Eligio “EJ” Martinez passed away peacefully at his home in Cortez on Sunday, February 14, 2016. He was 81 years old.
EJ was born on May 16, 1934 to Eligio and Anita Martinez in La Boca, CO.
He was a wonderful auto mechanic most of his life until his retirement. He served in the Korean War for 3 ½ years as a staff sergeant.
He is survived by his son, Leonard Martinez, his daughter, Loretta Bronson, his brother, Margarito Martinez, his grandkids, Brandon and Priscilla, Kurtis, Kris and Kandy and his great grandkids.
There will be a service held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 East 3rd Avenue, Durango, CO., at 1pm.
