Marguerite Laverne Gould

  Marguerite Laverne (Chalfin) Gould died February 9, 2024, in Durango, Colorado, where she lived the last twenty eight years of her life. She was 105 years old.

  Marguerite was born April 8, 1918, in Hardin County, Ohio, to Irvin and Vivian Chalfin. She grew up in Hardin County, graduated from McGuffey High School and completed Stephens Business Collage in Toledo, Ohio.

  Marguerite married Charles Gould on August 5, 1940. They made their home in McGuffey, Ohio and raised two daughters, Carol and Jayna. Charles died August 11, 1991, and a few years later she moved to Durango, Colorado to be near her daughter.

  Survivors include: daughters, Carol (Leo) Wehner of Durango, Colorado and Jayna (Mark) Lutz of Missoula, Montana; sister, Danna Hicks of Huron, Ohio; grandson, Craig Wehner of Aztec, New Mexico, and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; a grandson, Derek; a brother, Irvin Jr. and her parents, Vivian and Irvin.

A private family graveside service will be held at Preston Cemetery in Hardin County Ohio.
