Obituary for Consuela "Connie" Manzanares-Silva

Consuela (Connie) Manzanares-Silva (aka the Burrito Lady) passed away on October 31, 2012, at her home in Ignacio. She was 53.

Connie was born to George and Susan Manzanares on February 11, 1959, in Monte Vista, Colo. Connie was an avid outdoorsperson who loved to fish and camp. She also loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. She was thrilled about being a professional/amateur timekeeper for USA Boxing.

Her family said she loved and appreciated her parents and will forever hold them dear in her heart. She had a kind heart and was beloved by all. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her brother Vincent Williams (Manzanares). She is survived by her parents George and Susan Manzanares of Ignacio, her husband Francisco Jimenez of Ignacio, children Melissa Hessler of Ignacio, Daniel (Leslie) Silva of Durango, David (Lynette) Silva of Ignacio, Robert (Melissa) Silva of Minnesota and James Silva of Ignacio; sisters Carmen (Luis) Luna of Visela, Calif., Francis (Tony) Rivera of Aztec, N.M., Polly Manzanares of Ignacio, Georgia (Carlos) Leon of Ignacio, Lisa Manzanares of Ignacio, and Ylene Lobato-Castro of Grand Junction, Colo., brother Reggie (Audrey) Maez of Bloomfield, N.M., friends Jose Luis Jimenez and Jose Luis Gurra-Lopez of Ignacio, her doggie Killer, 18 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at St. Ignatius. Father Douglas Hunt will be the officiant.
